World First Virtual Piñat-AR Brand Activation

An App Preview of M&Ms Take Home the Fun Mobile AR App, a Game Development by Sydney based studio Chaos Theory Games
In collaboration with Traffik, we designed an immersive and cutting-edge brand activation for our favourite milk chocolate snack.

Combining our game development expertise and the latest augmented reality technology, we created M&M's Take Home the Fun: an entertaining and engaging AR app where players whack the virtual piñata for a chance to win prizes.

The Challenge

To increase overall confectionery sales and promote brand engagement through an interactive, digital experience that would stand out from the crowd.

Armed with the latest AR technology, we were tasked with  getting customers to not only participate in a new experience but also encourage them to be active.

Experts in AR development, we used AR foundations to support marker-less tracking, creating a seamless experience that just works.

Our team of Unity 3D game developers leveraged their previous experience to create an intuitive app that is pick up and play for any audience.

Memorable Brand Experience

The aim was to create a new yet on-brand activation that excited and captivated current and new customers. We helped design a new mobile experience that wouldn't be possible without AR technology.

We wanted to bringing a globally recognisable and beloved brand to life in AR to create longer lasting engagement.

The game motivated players through leader boards and influenced their purchases with the opportunity to win $20,000 worth of incredible prizes.

This style of arcade gameplay encouraged eager customers to repeat purchases throughout the campaign for their chance to win.
